Den samme betegnelsen vil bli brukt der en slik tråd har blitt brukt som leggtråd i en leggsøm. Betegnelsen leggsøm vil her bli brukt om både synlig dekorsøm og søm til å feste sømmonnet på vrangsiden, selv om den tradisjonelt forbindes med førstnevnte.
