Figur 2 viser en prinsippskisse av denne sømmen. Tegningen til venstre viser sømmen slik den forløper på rettsiden. Normalt vil ikke sømmen se helt slik ut; tråden er vanligvis strammet så mye at sømmen kun blir synlig nede i bretten. Noen ganger er det til og med vanskelig å se den der. Tegningen til høyre viser sømmen slik den blir seende ut på baksiden. Siden det meste av stingene ligger inne i stoffene, er det svært lite som blir synlig også på vrangsiden.

Normally will not see out the seam completely so; the thread is usually tightened so much that the seam only becomes visible down in the crease. Sometimes it is even difficult to see it there. The drawing to the right shows the seam as it will look on the back. Since most of the stitches is located inside the drugs, there is very little that becomes visible also on the wrong side.
