Sirkusdirektør Arnardo var straks med på ideen, og midt i August reiste teltet seg på skoleplassen. Imens tok sikusdirektøren med seg en elefant rundt i bygda for å hilse på-i gårdstun, på kafebesøk og i hamnhagen hos kuene- til stor begeistring hos bygdefolk.
