Den vanligste sammensyningsmetoden på Skjoldehamndrakten er en type tråklesøm gjort fra rettsiden. Jeg antar at sømmen tilsvarer den ”usynlige” sømmen som Else Østegård skriver om i sin bok om draktfunnene fra middelalderens Grønland (Østegård 2003:98). I motsetning til en tråklesøm sydd fra vrangsiden, vil denne sømmen være veldig lite synlig på vrangsiden. Den er også gjerne lite synlig på rettsiden.
